How can I download this app?

TokenPager is a webapp. To download the app simply click on the menu of the browser and click add to homescreen. On IOS Safari browser, click on share & add to homescreen. TokenPager will now be installed on your desktop, phone or tablet as a webapp.

Do my customers need to download an app?

No app download is needed! Customers simply scan the QR code and the pager runs instantly inside their standard web browser. No App Store password, account creation, or file download is required. On iOS, they just add a quick 2-second shortcut to their Home Screen to enable alert permissions.

How do daily order limits and notification quotas work?

Standard accounts include a generous allowance of 500 order pages per day. Because we support group and family sharing (up to 5 phones per token), your account accommodates up to 2,500 customer alert deliveries daily, with live tracking visible in your Admin Dashboard.

What does concurrent pager mean?

Concurrent pager means number of customers who have entered the token number and have actively kept the browser tab for customer view open. If the customer has given notification permission and closed the browser window-it does not count towards concurrent pagers.

Does it support push notifications on iPhones (iOS)?

Yes! iOS 16.4+ fully supports web push alerts. To secure system-level push access, Apple Safari requires a quick 'Add to Home Screen' shortcut action. On Android and Desktop, they can subscribe to alerts instantly with a single tap inside the browser without adding it to the home screen.

Do I need to buy special screens or hardware?

None at all. You can use any existing tablet, iPad, computer, or smartphone for the admin Keypad panel. Your customers use their own mobile devices as the pager receivers.

Can I customize the messages and terminology?

Yes! In your workspace settings, you can choose built-in presets (Restaurant, Table Waitlist, Salon, Auto Repair) or type custom pending/ready messages.

Can customers use the digital pager screen as a proof of payment?

No, absolutely not. Pager screens are strictly communication devices, not receipts. Because customers self-subscribe by entering their token number, anyone can type in a number. Your staff must always verify a physical proof of purchase (such as a paper receipt or order ticket) before handing over goods. For maximum security, enable Unique PIN Verification in settings so only receipt-holders can link their device.

What happens if a customer closes their browser tab or clears their cache?

The active pager status is linked to their token number and saved in their browser's Local Storage. If they close the tab, the pager restores automatically when they reopen it or scan the QR code again. However, if they clear their browser history, cache, or cookies, their local data is wiped. They will simply need to scan the QR code and re-enter their token number to reconnect.

Daily Operations Workflow

TokenPager replaces legacy physical coaster buzzers with an intuitive 4-step digital queue. There is zero hardware baggage to recharge, sanitize, or replace.

Step 1

Assign Token

Cashier enters a token number (e.g. 1 to 999) and hits ASSIGN (or presses Spacebar).

Step 2

Customer Connects

Customer scans the counter QR code, types their token number, and taps Notify Me to enable lock-screen alerts.

Step 3

Call Order

When the order is ready, staff hits CALL (or Enter). The customer's phone rings, vibrates, and flashes green.

Step 4

Clear Token

Once handed over, staff taps Done (✓) in the Active Orders list to clear the slot for the next customer.
